Olive L Tyrrell is a multi-disciplinary artist, born in Philadelphia and has lived in San Francisco for 18 years studying art history and working in various mediums including photography, painting, metal, and lighting before settling in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 2008.

Olive works with paint & clay gesturally and in a quick manner, while with intention and decisiveness. She works intuitively; her works are inspired by the surrounding landscape of the New Mexico desert. She seeks to connect the material to the place, while considering form through expression. 

My work is a study of the elemental & strongly connected to place…Often reflecting wind and sea, & the desert landscape I live in.

I am searching for ground …. The paintings are personal dialogues reflecting an ongoing pursuit to be tethered. These works are elemental descriptions with a particular connection to mountains, sky, water, & wind.
